(Spanish. English below)

Otro honor.

Download

Let’s play #tags. If we join #beats #eclectic # Madrid there’s a proof appearing. Like a kitten sticking his head out of a wrinkly blanket, just another Miguel, talented sir who used to be called Strand since time was time. Because anyone with a little bit of curiosity for spanish electronica will know the musical shortcuts from this Brussels based doctor.

Polyhedronic doctor, his music was paired with other kinds of arts such as the legendary Barry Gifford or Oli-B in partenarie with another european good team like LDBK. Just not to stick to music: are some of his record partners in expressions distributed by Foehn, Project Mooncircle, Lovemonk, Disboot or Galleta, among others.

Now he makes Lowriders his home to keep on experimenting a maturity away from window dressing hypes. An album we invite you to taste chilling. This and his The Saving Soul Mixcrate is what we came for.

Because in Maleza you will find twisted experiments, from synth&click, strings and juke, to six fingers west coast rapers. A good shot. But in his The Saving… he build a memories exercise out of his comfortable electronic being, tracks that show such a wide taste as the obscene musician headphones, which everything is liked. Everything as that series used to be, so cute, must be added, and gots another lovely artist collab, Glue Kids, which Strand made this bright comet in 2000′s.

Are you turning sick with that? Arrange your brain just a bit visiting his Discogs.

That tags serve us justice too. Another honour.

It is late night but instead of going to sleep I’m here preparing this text. It is not because I can’t sleep or because I am stupid, it is because ‘we love what we do‘. What do we do? A lot and nothing at the same time. Cristiano Nicolini (from Plastik Joy) is probably not sleeping either, he may be just pushing buttons at the studio or at home, if there’s a difference anymore. He is one of this kind I am talking about, and thanks to that he found the time to create this great piece for Rebited.

This Mixcrate is quiet different, it is from another period of time let’s say. And there is no specific period of time for this our series of mixtapes. We just want them to be an honest look back and to avoid weird tricks to mix each track… So I wanted to say, what is old music? Which is music from the past? This volume 6 from Cristiano brings us songs from the 90′s and early 00′s, and yes: we are getting old, I mean that period is definitely the past. Actually, what I wanted to say is that there is no past at all, because there is hardly new either. Does it even make sense? Now, just try to find some time to do this thing you love while listening to our new Saving Soul Mixcrate vol.6.

It’s been a couple of months already since we started with this project, the Mixcrates, this is how we call it. And I am going to use the chance to explain it all again, because this is not yet another mixtape serie. This time is not about pretending how cool we are, how many cutting edge bands we know or how good dj we can (wanna) be. We came with the idea that could be really nice to see (to listen, actually) what’s the real THING behind a name. What kind of music does this person really listen to. Rainy day, home alone. That song that never fitted in any mixtape you did before because you would not even admit you like it.

In fact, for us, the essence of a mixtape is about showing feelings and states of mind trough the magic of each song. As you can see, we have so clear what The Saving Soul Mixcrate are NOT, but not what they are at all, they are something up to the author, but something honest, that’s for sure. Now, we proudly present what Soak did with it, turn it up:
